While our diverse team of strategists, scientists, and creatives brings unique experiences and expertise to delivering both the art and science of growth, we all share a common empathy for consumers and understanding of how human motivations, behaviors, and needs come to life in the current world, and the future world we are all responsible for shaping.
Phil Roos, GrowthWorks founder and CEO, has over 30 years of experience in innovation, branding, and entrepreneurship. He previously founded and led the Arbor Strategy Group, a strategy and innovation firm in Ann Arbor, MI, which he sold in 2008. After the sale, Phil focused his energy on conservation and economic development advocacy, as well as providing strategic guidance to a range of organizations, from large corporations to emerging start-ups and nonprofits.
Through this work, Phil recognized that the challenges organizations were facing due to social, market, and technological disruption were issues that could be met head-on with forward looking strategic initiatives and a deeper understanding of future demand. In 2015, he founded GrowthWorks, a new strategy and innovation consultancy focused on helping clients leverage disruption and capitalize on opportunities that were emerging. Phil’s experience in helping nonprofits and his leadership in advocacy informed the culture and mindset of the new firm, firmly establishing GrowthWorks as a leader in driving client success while contributing to the health, wellness, and sustainability of the broader world.
Today, joining Phil at GrowthWorks is a group of experienced strategists and consultants, many of whom began their careers at classical consumer products “training” companies or management consulting firms. A shared passion for brands, strategy, and innovation led each team member to GrowthWorks, with its focus on growth consulting and disruptor-led work. They bring extensive portfolios, rich experiences, and the robust expertise needed to help deliver transformational growth for our clients, as well as a shared belief in creating something that contributes to the greater good.
